Day 1 - We've arrived!!

The early morning Captain's call aboard the Spirit of Tasmania rouses us from a deep rolling sleep on our crossing from Melbourne to Devonport. We're almost there! The excitement and anticipation builds as we make our way up to the chilly decks at dawn. The Bandycoot (my boyfriend) is keen for me to see the beautiful scene as we make our way into port. We're too late and find the boat already parked, so just take in the stunning early light setting. I can't believe we've finally arrived.

It's been a massive undertaking to pack up my  life and home in Queensland to make this tree change, but I am open to this fresh start in this incredibly beautiful state. It's already been an adventure driving across 3 states to make our way to the edge of the mainland, Beautiful countryside and a chance to spend time with distant friends and family was a wonderful perk to making the journey to our new home in the Tasmanian country.

After a beautiful breakfast on the harbour, with the pups happy to stretch their legs after they spent a long night curled up in the Bandycoot's ute, and watching the massive ships come in. It was a breathtakingly beautiful drive towards Wynyard and our new home. I hardly knew which way to look and just repeating the same phrase over in my mind, 'I can't believe I'm going to be living here!'. It wasn't long before we were driving through the rolling hills of Flowerdale and arriving to give the family there some big hugs, and get a thoughtful 'Welcome home!'.
