Day 7 Exploring a new world
Today we finally had a chance to explore the property around
the Old Dairy. It’s over 30 acres of lush green pastures, and the pups are
quickly learning how to slip under the fence wire (they’re little silky
terriers) and follow all the new smells they’re discovering. What was meant to
be a simple afternoon walk turned into a full bushwalk, as we made our way down
the path to the Flowerdale River coolly rushing by at the back of the property.
It was amazing to transition from the open fields, to wooded forest, to the
land before time with massive man-ferns, mossy paths with toadstools and trees
that could speak of the lost indigenous history. It’s incredible to think that
I have this untouched wilderness and icy clear stream a simple walk from my
home. I can’t wait until our first visitors come and we can transport them to
another world just down the way…
